I was completely shocked with every aspect of this lens. From its size and weight to the quality optics, this was a very pleasant surprise. I highly recommend the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 Lens

Shooting in jpg high contrast on the M11-P

Enjoying shooting with the camera I love in High Contrast jpg mode for the very first time. The Leica M11-P is my dream camera that seems to be staying in the honeymoon phase for longer than I ever expected. With the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2 III, it made this shoot exactly what I was expecting.

Get out of your own head about this 4/3 sensor and you may actually love this system. Switching to Adobe RGB vs sRGB only embeds the color space in the metadata - telling your editing program what color space to use. It does affect the jpg images but is only an embedded profile in the raw images.

    I am a pro photographer as well, and I have a Hsssy x2D and a Leica M10. I am considering switching the M10 with the Nikon Zf. I love to shoot with the 50mm and I never liked shooting it on the M. The SL I loved, but it is big and bulky. Looking for a travel camera for personal work mainly with a 50mm on it. Leica files are so beautiful and I am scared to lose that quality/feel. How does the Nikon files "feel" compared to the Leica? I know Sony a7cii would be a good choice for what I want, but Sony files are not so... Fuji is only aps-c. So, Nikon Zf or Leica M?

    Hi! Thank you for this video! Is this iteration of the Flashq compatible with the Sony ZV-1? There are a few versions of this flash out there but no proper explanation of what version is compatible with which camera. Including the remote triggers. For the same amount of money, I could get the Godox TT350S. What I find compelling with the Flashq is its’ light weight and compactness, especially with its transmitter. Other than that, the Godox TT350S dwarfs the Flashq in all other comparisons. What I’m looking for here is a small, light, everyday carry flash for casual settings. Does the Flashq sync with Godox? Which one would you recommeend for everyday street photography?

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto День тому

      I would go with the V350 (for its rechargeable battery) or the TT350 and the Godox X3 Nano. It is MUCH more reliable in remote mode. But to answer your question- most of the FlaahQ flashes are universally compatible with any camera unless it’s the Fuji model which I believe is the only one who offers TTL

That's why I asked. I understand the flash sync speed on the Leica M 11 is 1/180 sec. Did you lower the iso down really far and stop down a lot to get this to work? Great videos by the way. Nice to see commentary that's not informed by being an "ambassador" or selling something, a common problem these days.

    I think a lot of the criticisms of this system is just people repeating what they've seen others say on UA-cam. It's not like they've actually used the camera. In some ways it's more challenging than full-frame, since you can't crop as much, but I don't see a lot of difference between the images I get from this camera, and those I get from my full-frame Nikon. And it's more fun to use and to carry around too.

    I am usually not an "Um, actually ..." guy, but I have to nitpick about your idea that the 75 mm "has a 75 mm compression". Compression is not dependent on the focal length but on the distance. And you would need to use the same distance with a 150 mm lens on a FF camera as with the 75 mm on the OM-1. So ... what are you saying exactly? Could you demonstrate the difference you are seeing? Another thing, regarding 4:17: It is an open secret that this lens is patented and manufactured by Sigma. Which explains the great performance. Anyway - thanks for taking us along in the shoot. The stunning results und your verdict definitely renewed my interest. Especially in the silver version.

    I'm coming from the M11 Monochrome. As a (mostly) street shooter, with everything in front of me happening so quickly, I find that my composition suffers if I concentrate on getting the moment. If I try to compose properly, I miss the moment. This happens because focusing is done with the rangefinder, which is terrible for composing. n the end, it becomes distracting. Anyway, it happens often enough that the M43 universe is slowly pulling me in, and I'm starting to invest in more and more lenses for it. JIP (Japan Industrial Partners) bought the entire camera division from Olympus, incl. the factories, inventory and staff, in 2021, and rebadged the company to OM System. So, the people who created the Olympus cameras and lenses are still the same to do that for OM Systems (give or take restructuring). Since last year, OM Systems as per the contract with Olympus Medical, lost the right to use the Olympus brand name for new products. Since then, the new products are named OM Systems. It doesn’t change the quality nor innovation. Still great stuff that deserves more credits than they usually receive on YT. Thanks for being such an enthousiastic pro-user.

    The 75mm f1.8 is a killer concert and court-sports lens too. Especially in poor light.

    Gorgeously good images John and great compositions. I especially love the tall grass image. Call me an old fashioned, but I’m wondering if I really would want portrait images of ladies this sharp!! I think I would want a softer perhaps slightly more angelic effect. I think it would be perfect for hard edged subjects eg diamond ring close-ups or monochrome portraits of wizen-faced old men! No offence meant here John, it’s horses for courses; you can’t please everyone! Thanks for explaining that crop sensor lenses don’t compress by their crop factor. I suppose I should have worked this out for myself since it’s the same as a digital crop on a FF sensor. Thanks for the video I really enjoyed it. Keep ‘em coming.

    All current camera systems are "Good enough". In addition to that there are features that each system has that give it reach into different subject matter and use cases. Pick a system that has the feture set for you personally and your objectives. It s the camera's job to inspire and get out of the way so you can go where the muse leads.

    Beautiful work and review. This is the first two lenses I got when I moved to MFT 6 years ago. I am curious whether you are using Auto WB or customized it with the OM1.2. Glad someone doing portraits, event type of shooting as talented as you decided to give MFT a try.
